CNN —Look at almost any modern high-horsepower supercar and you will see the work of auto designer Marcello Gandini. Sharp lines, a low stance, doors that swing up; all were influenced by Gandini’s seminal work, the Lamborghini Countach. Gandini designed both of those cars and, if he had done nothing else, he would still be remembered. But in addition to his work for Lamborghini, Gandini produced cars for automakers including BMW, Fiat and Ferrari. For three years, Miura chipped in time, money and care, taking her grandmother to the emergency room so often that she got to know all the hospital security guards by name. "It was very stressful," said Miura, now 28, who helps others in this situation at her advisory Spark Financials. "What stands out for me is the number of people who are not only caregivers, but financial caregivers too," said Surya Kolluri, who heads the TIAA Institute. No wonder caregivers' financial lives are impacted: On average they have fewer assets and higher debt than non-caregivers, the report found. Remember that others could likely contribute money or time or both as well, including siblings, children, friends, cousins and in-laws.

PLD Space/Handout via REUTERS/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsMADRID, Oct 20 (Reuters) - Spanish rocket company PLD Space plans a first orbital launch from French Guiana in the first quarter of 2026, after it carried out the first fully private European rocket launch earlier this month, it said on Friday. PLD will use the data gathered with the 30 million euro ($32 million) suborbital test to develop the larger Miura-5, a full orbital launcher. So far, they have identified 1,000 elements for improvement to develop Miura-5, it said. PLD Space said it expects to sign the first binding agreements with clients next year. Europe's efforts to develop capabilities to send small satellites into space are in focus after a failed orbital rocket launch by Virgin Orbit from Britain in January.

MADRID, Oct 7 (Reuters) - Spanish company PLD Space launched its reusable Miura-1 rocket early on Saturday from a site in southwestern Spain, carrying out Europe's first fully private rocket launch and offering hope for the continent's stalled space ambitions. The Miura-1 rocket, named after a breed of fighting bulls, is as tall as a three-storey building and has a 100-kg (220-pound) cargo capacity. A first attempt to launch the Miura-1 rocket in May was abandoned due to strong high-altitude winds. Competitors lining up to join the race to launch small payloads include companies in Scotland, Sweden and Germany. In July, the last launch of Europe's largest rocket, the premier Ariane 5 space launcher, took place at the European spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana.

Ashley Ray was in the midst of purchasing her "dream car" when she got a troubling call from her mother. Ray's car deal was delayed, so she was able to use the money to help her mom avoid losing the house. She was glad to be able to help her mom, but as she told her Twitter followers, "god loves a joke." It can be stressful to prioritize your own long-term financial needs when other people are relying on you. There can also be a cultural expectation to take care of your parents and other relatives as they age, Miura says.

Jeff Meier, a 62-year-old automotive consultant living in Los Angeles, on his 1969 Lamborghini Miura S, as told to A.J. In 2000, I was visiting relatives in Oregon. My aunt told me about this guy who owned an old orange Lamborghini. My sister knew everyone in this little town, and she was able to find him. There was this long dirt road, and a shack that looked deserted.
Over half of millennials are expecting to receive an inheritance, recent research shows. Aside from potential tax obligations, a cash inheritance may sound like a sweet deal for the recipient. "Many people don't realize that as they're going through the grieving process, they may make unfortunate decisions," Miura says. Along with the expected emotions around the death of a loved one, feelings about the money itself can create an emotional conundrum for an inheritance recipient. Sometimes people feel guilty about receiving an inheritance based on the assumption that you should work hard to earn money, Miura says.

If anyone still needs convincing that electric cars need not be boring appliances, the Battista is a convincing, if costly, argument. Electric power promises more acceleration and power without tailpipe emissions and, for better or worse, without the cacophony of a V12. But Lamborghini’s current CEO, Stephan Winkelmann, has said that a proper electric supercar isn’t possible with today’s technology. The Pininfarina Battista puts his skepticism to the test, but, I fear, Winkelmann may just be right. There's some cliché financial advice I've heard over and over that financial planners say to ignore. "Renting is throwing money away" and "a credit card balance is good for your credit score" are examples. That made me wonder if frequently passed-along financial advice always rings true. Crypto is the futureLately, all the financial advice my friends are giving me has to do with cryptocurrencies. "Since credit utilization is responsible for 30% of your credit score, it's a good idea to keep it as low as you can."
